Introduction
Welcome to Bobiska webpage! Bobiska is a Transylvanian folk dance group for children. Based in Kaszon, Romania, Bobiska is made of roughly 40 dancers, all between the ages of 8 and 15. Bobiska has 4 main goals which they strive to achieve; To retain their ancient traditions, to find, preserve and perform their traditional artforms, to join in the "tanchaz" (like a barn-dance) movement, and last but not least, to create a real team feeling, a community. |

Group Activities
Since forming the group in 1999, Bobiska welcomes any child that wants to learn folk dancing and singing. The group meets every week for training. Each summer they attend a summer camp. They try to take part in as many performances as possible, and they also like to form exchange programs. In 2001 they took part in a dance festival in Hungary where they won several awards. |

Can you help?
Small donations can go a long, long way. If you would like to help these children achieve their goals, if you can help in any way, please contact us. We are looking for people to do fund raising, to distribute our newsletters, to make donations (however small) etc. |

The Bottle Dance
In this dance the girls must dance while skillfully balancing a bottle of wine on their head. Needless to say, much practise is needed!
